Inspiration

Small retailers often struggle to access reliable wholesalers, especially beyond their local networks. While nationwide sourcing across India offers more choice, it also introduces serious risks such as fake “verified” sellers, identity scams, direct payment fraud where money is sent but goods are never received, fake tracking and documents (GST, transport bills, licenses), damaged or wrong goods, and a complete lack of accountability after disputes. Additionally, retailers waste significant time and money traveling just to establish trust with suppliers.

Tradigoo was inspired by the need to make wholesale trade safer, smarter, and more accessible at an all-India level. Our goal was to remove blind trust from B2B transactions by introducing escrow-based security, AI-powered decision support, and platform-level accountability, allowing small retailers to trade confidently without middlemen.


What Tradigoo Does

Tradigoo is an AI-powered B2B platform that connects retailers directly with verified national-level Indian wholesalers while protecting every transaction through a secure escrow payment system and transparent verification workflows.


Core Features

1. AI-Powered Product Recommendations

Tradigoo uses an AI assistant powered by the Gemini API to help retailers make smart, data-driven purchasing decisions instead of relying on guesswork.

Retailers can ask questions like: “What should I sell today?”

The assistant analyzes:

  • Demand levels (High / Medium / Low)
  • Regional market trends across India
  • Seasonal buying patterns
  • Expected profit margins
  • Product availability from wholesalers

The AI also recommends the most trustworthy wholesalers using a dynamic trust score calculated from:

  • Successful transaction history
  • Delivery reliability
  • Retailer ratings & reviews
  • Consistency of supply

👉 This ensures retailers not only buy the right product but also buy from the right supplier.


2. Secure Escrow Payment System

Payments are held safely in escrow and released only after successful delivery and inspection.

  • Payment held until delivery confirmation
  • OTP-based delivery verification
  • 24-hour inspection window
  • Quality confirmation before payment release

This prevents payment fraud and protects both retailers and wholesalers.


3. Trust Score System

Each user on Tradigoo has a transparent trust score based on:

  • Successful transactions
  • Dispute history
  • Order completion behavior

Trust scores are visible before every transaction, improving decision-making and platform transparency.


4. Complete Order Lifecycle Tracking

Every order follows a clear lifecycle:

  1. Payment in Escrow – Funds secured
  2. Shipped – Order dispatched
  3. Delivered – OTP verification
  4. Inspection – 24-hour quality check
  5. Completed – Payment released

5. Dispute Resolution

Tradigoo provides an evidence-based dispute system:

  • Live in-app video capture during delivery or inspection
  • Time-stamped platform-recorded evidence
  • Clear responsibility assignment
  • Fair and transparent resolution process

6. Security Features

🛠️ How We Built Tradigoo

Tradigoo was built as a full-stack web application using Next.js 15 with the App Router and TypeScript, providing a scalable and modular architecture for both frontend and backend logic. The user interface was developed with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui, while Framer Motion was used to add smooth animations and Lucide React for consistent iconography.

For data management and authentication, we used Supabase with a PostgreSQL database, along with Supabase Auth (mocked for demo purposes). Form handling and validation were implemented using React Hook Form and Zod to ensure reliability and data integrity.

AI-powered decision support was integrated using the Google Gemini API, enabling a contextual chatbot that helps users understand invoices, delivery and escrow workflows, and dispute resolution. The application is deployed on Vercel, with GitHub used for version control and collaboration.


Challenges We Ran Into

The biggest challenge was designing a secure delivery and payment flow that reduces scams from both retailer and wholesaler sides without relying on blockchain or owning logistics infrastructure. Ensuring platform accountability—where most marketplaces step away after disputes—required careful design of escrow logic, live video–based inspection evidence, verification steps, and evidence-based dispute resolution while keeping the user experience simple.
