Inspiration

Many beginners find the stock market confusing because they struggle to understand stock prices, technical indicators, market trends, and investment risks. They often make decisions without fully understanding the reasons behind them. We wanted to build an AI-powered assistant that makes stock market analysis easier and more accessible to everyone.

What it does

TradeVision AI is an AI-powered stock analysis assistant designed to help beginners understand the stock market and make more informed investment decisions.

Key features include:

  • Stock search for NSE and BSE stocks.
  • Interactive stock price charts and historical market data.
  • Technical indicators such as RSI, SMA, EMA, and MACD.
  • AI-assisted Buy, Hold, or Sell recommendations.
  • Easy-to-understand explanations of stock analysis.
  • Risk assessment to help users understand potential investment risks.
  • Suggested stop-loss and target prices for analysis.
  • A personalized watchlist to track selected stocks.
  • Portfolio management to organize and monitor investments.

How we built it

We designed TradeVision AI using a modern full-stack architecture. The frontend uses React, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Axios, and Recharts to provide an interactive user interface. The backend uses Python and FastAPI to handle API requests, stock analysis, and application logic. We use yfinance to retrieve stock market data and Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn for data processing and analysis. SQLite and SQLAlchemy support data storage, while JWT authentication helps manage user sessions.

Challenges we ran into

Some of our main challenges included retrieving stock market data reliably, calculating technical indicators, connecting the frontend with the backend, presenting financial information in a beginner-friendly way, and designing an application that explains its analysis instead of simply displaying a recommendation.

What's next

We plan to improve our analysis methods, expand stock market coverage, enhance risk assessment, add more educational explanations, and improve portfolio tracking. Our goal is to make stock market analysis more understandable and help users approach investment decisions with greater awareness.
