Inspiration
Letters of Credit is a key instrument in global trust. Due to inefficiencies, friction and frauds in the process, millions of dollars are lost annually. Verifiable Credentials may be a great solution to overcome some of the teething issues.
What it does
This example implementation allows to creates the DIDs for involved parties and artifacts in the process. It creates a Verifiable Credential, Presentation and secured via JWT. It also verifies the VP. It leverages smart contract based DID registry for did:ethr method.
How we built it
We built it using Onyx SSI SDK. The SDK supports ethr and key methods. We used Ethereum based DID registry. We built user interface to make it easy to understand. We also tried the same use case on a private permissioned hyperledger besu network deployed in Azure cloud.
Challenges we ran into
Delegation and setting properties on the VCs. Utilizing the privacy feature along with signed transactions.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successful application and demonstration of the use case.
What we learned
Digital Identity ecosystem and building blocks.
