Inspiration

The inspiration behind TradeTrek came from recognizing the lack of financial education among students. Financial concepts are often introduced in a complex and overwhelming way, making it difficult for beginners—especially students—to grasp. We wanted to create a fun, engaging, and educational platform that simplifies finance and makes learning it both practical and enjoyable.

What it does

TradeTrek is an interactive learning platform designed to teach users about finance, stock markets, mutual funds, trading, crypto, and banking in a simple, gamified way. Key features include:

Learning Modules: Covers foundational finance topics with info-rich content, video playlists, and knowledge checks.

Virtual Stock Market: Each user is given fake money upon registration, which they can use to buy and sell stocks in a simulated environment.

Game-like Experience: Encourages users to learn and experiment with financial decisions without real-world risks.

Anyone—from curious beginners to aspiring investors—can use TradeTrek to build their financial knowledge and confidence.

Development Process:

*Started with brainstorming and sketching the layout of the website.

*Designed the UI for each page using inspirations from real-world financial apps.

*Used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend structure.

*Referred to AI tools and design platforms for styling and functionality ideas.

*Created a custom logo and branding for TradeTrek.

Challenges we ran into

Building TradeTrek came with its share of challenges:

*Understanding financial terms and concepts before teaching them to others.

*Curating the right educational content that is both accurate and easy to understand.

*Merging multiple pages and features into a single seamless experience.

*Ensuring the design remains intuitive while incorporating complex information.

*Despite these hurdles, each problem helped us grow in knowledge and skill.

What's next for TradeTrek

Currently, TradeTrek runs on a frontend-only setup. Our future plans include:

*Developing the backend to manage user data, leaderboards, and dynamic content.

*Launching a mobile app version of TradeTrek.

*Adding advanced financial tools, calculators, and tracking features.

*Expanding the learning modules to include real-time market trends and mock trading competitions.

This is just the beginning—TradeTrek is a project we’re truly passionate about, and we aim to take it further and make financial education more accessible for everyone.
