🛠️ TradeTok: Giving Tradespeople the Power to Go Viral

🚀 What Inspired Me What inspired me to build TradeTok was seeing how far behind many tradespeople still are when it comes to marketing themselves in the digital age. I work in the trades, and I see it every day—skilled electricians, painters, and landscapers still relying on pen and paper, word-of-mouth, or outdated flyers, while potential clients are scrolling social media looking for trustworthy, visual proof of great work.

We’re in a time where attention is currency, and most tradespeople aren’t capitalizing on it. I wanted to change that—by giving them a tool that makes it simple to turn their hard work into content that attracts business.

🧠 What I Learned Through this project, I learned how to creatively leverage multiple AI models to bring a vision to life quickly. I experimented with prompt engineering to generate viral content formats, and gained a deeper appreciation for how design and user experience need to align with a specific audience—especially one that may not be tech-savvy.

🧱 How I Built It I built TradeTok entirely using Bolt.new, which made it possible to create a fully functional app with a single, well-crafted prompt. I combined AI script generation, caption creation, hashtag curation, and SmartClip video parsing into one seamless user flow, tailored specifically for trades.

⏱️ Challenges I Faced The biggest challenge I faced was time. I work over 50 hours a week in the sun, and when I come home, I’m a husband and father of two. Finding energy and focus to build after long workdays was tough—but it’s also what drove me. I want to create tools that help people like me: hard-working, skilled, and too busy to learn video editing or manage complex apps.
