Inspiration

TradeStack was inspired by the need for a fast, reliable troubleshooting guide for skilled trades. Technicians and homeowners often spend valuable time searching through manuals or multiple websites to diagnose common problems. I wanted to create one place where users could quickly find likely causes, recommended parts, required tools, safety information, and practical field notes.

What it does

TradeStack is a mobile-friendly troubleshooting application that helps users diagnose and solve common issues across multiple skilled trades. Users can browse by trade, search for problems, and quickly access organized troubleshooting information to make repairs more efficient.

How I built it

I built TradeStack using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with GitHub for version control and GitHub Pages for deployment. Throughout development I used GPT-5.6 and Codex to help brainstorm features, troubleshoot bugs, improve the user interface, refine code, and accelerate development while making the implementation decisions myself.

Challenges I ran into

One of the biggest challenges was organizing technical troubleshooting information into a format that was both easy to navigate and useful in the field. I also worked through deployment, GitHub integration, and mobile optimization to create a smooth experience across devices.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud of creating an application that can help real technicians and homeowners solve problems more efficiently. I'm also proud of growing my software development skills by taking an idea from concept to a working, publicly available application.

What I learned

This project strengthened my understanding of web development, GitHub, deployment, debugging, and AI-assisted software development. It also reinforced the importance of designing software around real-world workflows and usability.
