Inspiration

Our vision was born from the need to make the German Mittelstand less reliant on large suppliers and unlock the untapped potential of collaboration within this sector. TRADEHUB emerged as a transformative idea: a B2B marketplace uniquely designed to solve critical challenges Mittelstand businesses face today—challenges that remain unmet by existing solutions.

What it does

TRADEHUB is a tailored B2B marketspace that empowers Mittelstand companies by:

Comparing Suppliers: Offering a transparent and comprehensive view of the market, enabling better decision-making.
Optimizing Waste Utilization: Facilitating the trade of byproducts and materials, turning waste into value for others.
Fostering Collaboration: Enhancing communication and cooperation between Mittelstand businesses, surpassing the limitations of traditional marketplaces.
Workforce Integration: Providing access to skilled professionals, such as cybersecurity experts, addressing a critical vulnerability in today’s digital landscape.

One example would be cyber security specialists since lacking cyber security is a key issue in our digitalized world

How we built it

We built a Go backend that handles our data and search queries, and a Vue frontend using Vuetify to display this data.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge was to combine the various services efficiently, which is easy to understand and use, and focus on what we think are the key aspects that hinder the current German Mittelstand. The inclusion of Cyber Security, which we think is a massive problem for the Mittelstand, was a wrecking challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to present a decently working demo, a great foundation of a product that can impact the current Mittelstand, and the implementation of a single solution to many issues the Mittelstand faces.

What we learned

The effective combination of ideas into one great concept and having to accept that not everything can fit into one thing and that you sometimes have to focus on the key aspects.

What's next for Tradehub

Next for Tradehub is the implementation of more data analytic tools and functionalities that can predict the market flow, making it easier for the companies to assess how they should proceed financially. Further, we want to optimize the functions currently present and allow for a more user-friendly and functional interface.
