Inspiration
It all started when we faced an issue last week. Tanay had to install a water spray in his house but he had great difficulty finding a plier. Current solutions include buying a new plier for 22$ freaking dollars, which is a huge sum for college students like us; and texting on the massive group chats, only to get ignored and ending up pinging over a thousand members. We wanted to solve this problem at a campus-level, and thus we came up with a social platform where users can register and list the unwanted tools in their house so their peers can utilize it! The name, TradeDaddy comes from the fact that Desi Dads have such massive friend circle that they can easily find a tool, but as international freshman or sophomores, this can be quite challenging.
What it does
TradeDaddy uses Data Analysis from user input, since we have to create Databases and Lists to store them in Redis, and then queries into the Database using Redis Client in Python. It also enhances sustainibility since the need for buying new tools will go down, and therefore reduce the amount of tools ending up useless or in landfills.
How we built it

Challenges we ran into
Django was a massive challenge for us, since we had not tackled a project of such calibre before. But, with the help of the awesome SunHacks volunteers and mentors, we were able to build the backend within 24 hours.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Helping out our peers!
What we learned
A lot about Backend Programming, AWS and Databases
What's next for TradeDaddy
