Inspiration
I have always wondered what it would look like if we have used the power of AI to its last limit.
What it does
Uses a pre-built face detection model to detect faces from an image. It utilizes the model through an API.
How I built it
I had a mentor from Microsoft, Kayokwa Chibuye who constantly helped me to develop this app. I was relatively new to Flutter by the time and it was my first exposure to using APIs with Flutter.
Challenges I ran into
I was relatively new to Flutter, so that was the major challenge. Almost everything was a trial-and-error loop. Using Firebase was also kind of a challenge for me.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
My mentor was proud of me when I completed this project. Starting from that, my career has been slanting towards becoming a Flutter Developer. That project has proved me that I am capable of building apps that I desire.
What I learned
I learned that Flutter is an interesting framework and there is a lot to dig about it.
What's next for FaceDetector
I plan to customize the project further so that it would also include emotion detection and more advanced image processing functionalities.
