Inspiration

We wanted to build something that makes habit tracking more engaging instead of feeling like another checklist.

The idea was to combine habit tracking with an ocean theme where progress feels alive, while also using AI to provide personalized feedback instead of generic motivational messages.

What it does

TrackLess AI allows users to:

  • Track daily habits
  • Visualize progress through an ocean-inspired interface
  • Generate AI-powered reviews based on completed habits
  • Receive personalized suggestions for improvement

How we built it

  • React
  • JavaScript
  • CSS
  • Google Gemini API
  • React Markdown

The frontend was built in React, while Gemini generates personalized habit reviews from the user's progress.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was integrating the Gemini API correctly. We also spent time improving the UI and making the AI responses display properly with Markdown formatting.

Since this was a hackathon project, balancing features, debugging, and design within a limited amount of time was challenging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully integrating AI-powered habit reviews
  • Building a complete React application within the hackathon
  • Creating a clean ocean-inspired user experience

What we learned

This project helped us understand:

  • Working with AI APIs
  • React component structure
  • State management
  • Prompt engineering
  • Building under time constraints
  • The importance of teamwork and rapid iteration during a hackathon

What's next for TrackLess AI

We plan to improve the project by:

  • Adding authentication and cloud data storage
  • Habit streaks and achievements
  • Richer progress visualizations
  • Better animations and underwater interactions
  • Smarter AI coaching with long-term habit analysis
  • Mobile responsiveness and deployment
