Inspiration
Trackit was basically inspired from a simple motive; make day to day financial queries easy for the common man and provide an interface where all financial queries are resolved rather than having to browse or use multiple apps for one purpose.
What it does
Trackit allows users to send money with their emails serving as their account number. It also allows users to enter expenses and monthly income and judge if they are overspending or underspending. Trackit also allows users to save pdf reports of their monthly expenses to keep a more permanent record. Moreover, the app allows users to split bills and provides a chat interface within the app to allow users to chat and exchange screenshots regarding payments, reducing the need to switch over to whatsapp. We went a step further and used gemini api to set up an AI assistant that is a paid feature for premium users so they can get better insights and advice about their budget and expenses.
How we built it
Trackit is built using Flutter, Hive, Laravel, Stripe and PostgresSQL.
Challenges we ran into
Incorporating stripe and setting up chat interface was the hardest part.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
So far, trackit is only a MVP and has not been made available to the public.
What we learned
We learned about how to execute a proper full stack app and what is the actual architecture of an app that goes into production.
What's next for Trackit Mobile App
We might redesign the backend with FAST API to incorporate AI assistance and polish the AI aspect of the app and aim to deploy it. Also, we aim to market it via instagram reels and pages.
