Inspiration
As a widespread virus continues to meet new people, we wanted to make it easier for people to interact with COVID-19 testing centers.
What it does
Our website allows the people to search for a specific testing center or search by zip code. The details of the center such as their address, the phone number, the number of available kits, the estimated wait time, the waitlist, the number of volunteers are shown to the user as they can decide from there on which testing center to go to.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, and Javascript, to display a layout of text, buttons, and hyperlinks in order to create a visually appealing website which users can communicate to the testing centers.
Challenges we ran into
We had trouble dealing with the layout as we made many changes throughout the creation of the website. The margins changed and the design messed up. Eventually, we were able to fix everything and continue on with the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a website from scratch as we also created a database which can hold the testing centers' information.
What we learned
We learned more about how to 3d globe modeling by using 2d masking on Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator. We also learned how to create a website from scratch and a database that allows data to be stored.
What's next for Tracking COVID-19 Testing Centers with Easy Communication
We want to be able to connect with the actual Testing Centers and deploy their information on the website allowing users to know the status and details of each Testing Center they are interested in.
