What Inspired Me: The inspiration for TRACE RUNNER came from witnessing the real-world AI art controversy unfolding across social media, where traditional artists and AI technology advocates clash daily. I watched brilliant artists express genuine fear about losing their livelihoods, while simultaneously seeing disabled creators gain newfound creative freedom through AI tools. This wasn't a simple "good vs. evil" story—it was complex, nuanced, and deeply human.

I wanted to create a narrative that doesn't take sides but instead asks: "What if both perspectives have merit? What if technology is truly neutral, and only our choices determine its impact?" The story of Dr. Juliana Reeves—a mother who becomes a murderer to save her son—embodied this moral complexity. She uses the same AI technology that helps her disabled child create art to commit crimes and frame an innocent artist. The knife that carves beauty also cuts lives.

I was also inspired by classic cyberpunk noir like Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell, where technology questions the nature of humanity itself. What better setting than an AI art gallery, where an android artist must judge the crimes of its own creator?
