Inspiration

We often have too many photos after a trip, but little time to sort them or look at them again. We wanted to make those memories easier to revisit.

What it does

Trace analyzes uploaded photos and sorts them by time and location. It then creates a route that “traces” back your trip and highlights some of your best memories.

How we built it

We built Trace as a website, mainly through vibe coding and AI-assisted development. We connected photo analysis, locations, routes, and AI-generated summaries.

Challenges we ran into

The backend was our biggest challenge because we are all new to app building. Connecting everything together was not as easy as we expected.

We turned our idea into a cool working product with the help of AI.

What we learned

We learned that AI can help us turn a simple idea into something real, even without much app-building experience.

What's next for Trace

We want to add personalized travel planning and yearly trip summaries. Trace could also become a travel social platform where people share their trips and get ideas from others.
