Inspiration
AI is taking over the world just like google sparking the internet revolution AI changes how we interact with information so it only makes sense to apply this idea to making an important purchase on an expensive commodity.
What it does
Users have the option to pick your car from a filter manually or you can type in plain English which would automatically create a list of filters and retrieve a set of cars best suited to the user.
How we built it
We used a Gemini API and connected to a Toyota CSV file with all the information for many different types of Toyota cars.
Challenges we ran into
Figuring out a good front end mixing color scheme and layout, and much trial and error to merge our front end and back end as our team divided up the work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to make a functioning website and AI with a functional UI and it actually serves a purpose that can help for the betterment of society.
What we learned
How to integrate a backend created with FastAPI and Python to connect to the frontend made with React. We also learned how to Prompt engineer Gemini to give us the correct filters based on the user's request.
What's next for Toyota AI Search
Optimizing the searching so it can work with larger data sets more efficiently using better data structures that is optimized for searches. Adding more QOL features such as sorting, and allowing the user to customize their payment plan.
