What Inspired Us
Toyota Financial Services (TFS) challenged us to simplify the car financing process for customers. We realized that the easiest way to make this experience both engaging and intuitive was to remove unnecessary manual input. Our solution: a swipe-based interface that helps users explore car options and financing plans seamlessly, turning what’s typically a tedious process into something quick and interactive.
What We Learned
This project was our first experience rapidly deploying a full-stack application. We leveraged Firebase for its cost-effectiveness, scalability, and simplicity — allowing us to focus on building features rather than managing infrastructure. Through this, we gained valuable insights into integrating cloud databases, authentication, and deployment workflows efficiently.
What We Did & Challenges We Faced
We began by mapping out how to make the financing experience as streamlined and fun as possible. One of the first challenges we encountered was developing accurate monthly payment calculations — ensuring they reflected real-world financial models while staying user-friendly. Another major hurdle was deployment; we needed a free yet reliable solution for our demo environment. Overcoming these challenges helped us build a more complete and scalable system while maintaining our goal of accessibility and simplicity.
