Toxic Remover

Inspiration

Glow and I have experinced lots of hate and spam in our comment section, so we decided to make an application to solve our problems.

What it does

ToxicRemover is an application that uses AI and ML to detect toxic comments and remove them from your comment section. It also has an analyze feature that lets people see toxic comments in videos that might not be theirs, but they are not allowed to delete them.

How we built it

We built it using a combination of many technologys. Some of the technologys we used were Google Cloud apis (for youtube and google sign in), python and flask.

Challenges we ran into

We had a lot of challenges to face since it was our first time using the youtube api to delete and fetch comments. Overall most of the time was spent on the backend and we had many struggles to get the youtube api working.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of making this application because we learned a lot of skills that we didnt know. I am mostly proud of the backend, but I also developed my tailwind css and designing skills.

What we learned

We learned a ton of stuff from this project, mainly how to integrate google apis and how to set up a google project. Although this project was one that took almost 30 hours and 1 all nighter, I think it was worth it because we finished it and can we a real world application.

What's next for Toxic Remover

We are planning to train our AI and ML model a lot more and maybe even release a twittch bot because that will help small creators a lot more due to less need for moderation.
