Inspiration

We got inspiration from the game Overcooked, and how it allows for multiple inputs by the same user in order to control two characters at the same time. We wanted to take this idea and turn it into a different scenario with a bit more happening.

What it does

Currently, it simply allows for the user to protect a central core in a very early build with a simple attack. However, we intend to evolve this over time.

How we built it

It was built using VS Code and the Pygame documentation, with a little bit of prior experience.

Challenges we ran into

We attempted to develop a separate project beforehand, however ran into many issues and had to pivot at the last moment. Unfortunately, this led to a bit less of a finished prototype than we desired. However, it is still a functional example of how a simultaneously controlled tower defense could work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we managed to get a functional game in the few hours we had to pivot and work on it.

What we learned

We learned about our own limits, as well as how to balance between finding resources, such as in documentation, debugging, and programming. As well, we learned about a few of the restrictions of Python.

What's next for Tower Defense PT

The game will continuously be updated, soon with basic features, such as updated defenses, however it will continuously evolve depending on what the user does. We plan to either use a database or an AI to assist with this.
