Inspiration
Enjoyed playing Tower Defense games like Bloons TD 6. First hackathon so our group thought it would be cool to try making a Tower Defense game.
What it does
Our game spawns in waves of square, and the player is given areas where they can place towers. Placing towers will cause square to lose HP within the rangeof the towers, highlighted in a blue circle.
How we built it
We used Unity Game Engine in order to create the game, using C#
Challenges we ran into
Since it was our first time coding in Unity, there was a learning curve in terms of learning the code, as well as all the implications. When creating the code, trying to assemble all the pieces together was difficult as it was our first time trying to create coding project with multiple people working on a game.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to create a somewhat functional game, even though there are not all the features we intended to be in the game. Learning many different parts of the Unity engine and creating scripts which actually worked. Working together as a team and learning about coding games more.
What we learned
That we need to limit our features when initially planning. As well probably spend more time learning more about Unity before trying to add features without knowing the difficulty.
What's next for Tower Defense
Implementing the rest of the features we would of liked to add. Maybe adding more maps and making better graphic designs.
