In the advent of a booming e-sports scene, competition has grown fiercely and so have the prize pools. We see these tournaments with big prize pools like The International for Dota 2, which raked in over $30M for their prize pool last year, and it only gets bigger every year. However, the prize pools of these events are usually hosted by the companies who made the games themselves, using part of the profit that they get from selling in-game items to contribute to the pool. This way, international players of the game can contribute to this ever growing pool of money, even if they purchase items from their own home currency. However, we felt that it was possible to remove this limitation on the game publisher only being able to fundraise and host these large tournaments. Our hack leverages the simple fiat-to-crypto ILP that Xpring has made available in order to take any kind of currency as an entry fee and convert it to XRP, which can then later be distributed out back into the winners's respective home currencies. This eliminates the hassle and stress caused by hosting large-scale tournaments involving international entrants, who all use different forms of money. This also lessens the barrier of entry for organizers to hold their own international tournament, regardless of how much money they've raised on their own.
