Local Reel Impact is a platform that transforms tourist travel reels into local economic support. Tourists upload short travel videos, and the system tags the location, highlights nearby small businesses, and calculates the estimated economic Impact of their visit. The Platform connects travelers with local vendors, boosts business visibility, and provides measurable data on Tourism spending.
What it does
It allows User signup and login, Uploads and view travel reels, Automatic Location Tagging, Nearby local businesses display, Estimated economic Impact calculation and Mobile-friendly Interface.
How we built it
I created a full-stack prototype using HTML and CSS, and JavaScript for the Front-end, and Node.js with Typescript for the backend. The Platform stores users, reels, and businesses data in Database, tags reel location, shows nearby businesses, and calculates estimated economic impact. It's deployed on Replit with sample data so judges can interact with a live,working demo.
Challenges we ran into
Backend Complexity Setting up user authentication, reels uploads, and database connection with Typescript and Node.js Deployment Issues Ensuring the App runs smoothly on Replit and loads quickly during demos

I built a fully functional prototype that connects tourists reels to local businesses, calculate economic impact, and delivers a smooth, interactive demo in just a few days.

Next we plan to add maps, live business data, AI tagging, analytics, and scale to more Location.
