Inspiration
I have always loved to travel spontaneously, with tout a tour guide, to experience the adventures more freely. However, I'm also interested in architecture and history of places I visit, which is usually provided by tour guides.
What it does
Tourist AR scans various important monuments and buildings and provides information about it in a form of text and voiceover.
How we built it
I wasn't able to build this lens into lens studio, since it provides location scanning only for smartphones that supports LiDAR scanners. Mostly these are iphone 14 models, which is quite luxurious item to afford in Georgia(my homeland) and I was unable to obtain it.
Challenges we ran into
Obstacle was really serious, however, I still decided to try to make this project. I tried other AR creator platform, which was available for my smartphone and built a simple prototype to represent the idea.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud that I still decided to try this project and with limited resources, still managed to somehow represent my Idea. I hope my efforts will be somewhat noticed.
What we learned
That my smartphone(Samsung Note2) doesn't support LiDAR app for location scanning.
What's next for Tourist AR
I wish to make this project into startup in the near future.
