Inspiration

Layovers at airports often result in passengers staying within the airport due to the overwhelming nature of planning short trips or uncertainty about where to begin exploring outside. Our solution aims to provide succinct suggestions and highlight must-visit places to transform layover experiences.

What it does

Our application employs AI to assist travelers in crafting tailored trip plans based on their preferences, ensuring an engaging and personalized travel experience.

How we built it

We developed a mobile web app using Next.js for the front end. On the backend, we integrated the Mapbox API for map matrices, routes, and coordinates; Open-Meteo for weather forecasts; and Claude Opus for AI-driven insights and recommendations.

Challenges we ran into

A significant challenge was the careful construction of AI metaprompts to generate specific results that align with users’ intentions and enhance the travel planning process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are particularly proud of our teamwork and the intuitive UI/UX design that enhances user engagement and simplifies travel planning.

What we learned

We gained insights into metaprompting, Large Language Models (LLMs), web application development, and workflow management, broadening our technological and practical understanding.

What's next for Tap & Go

Future enhancements include developing a comprehensive database and integrating additional services such as accommodations and flights to offer a more holistic travel planning solution.
