Inspiration

There are countless people traveling as we speak. Those same people use websites to book their flights, vehicle rentals, tour guides, some even use social media to plan their trips. What if we could cut some of those apps out and unite them to create an easier way to plan your trip and have a way to see new places you may have not thought of previously.

What it does

Allows users to create their trip details to have a planned trip while being able to add unexpected stops to their trip and discover new locations they may have not thought about previously. We made this idea in hopes to encourage exploration have it be within the same town or somewhere completely unknown

How we built it

  • Front end, Built with SwiftUI
  • Backend, built with SwiftSDK
  • Swift SDK for routing between points
  • Used assets we created for the assets within the application

Challenges we ran into

  • UI not matching device specifications
  • Map not showing up where we wanted it to show up
  • Knowing how to add points onto the map and create a route between them
  • Github Repo corrupting code every pull request

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Team collaboration were everyone felt like they pulled their weight
  • Created a functioning application in Swift for IOS
  • Creating a map using Arc Maps to match the branding of our application
  • Logo Creation for the app

What we learned

  • We learned how create an IOS app within SwiftSDK
  • Creating logos through canva
  • Figma for UI/XI planning
  • Frontend and backend connection
  • Arc maps

What's next for Touris

In the future if we were to continue this application we would implement a newer cleaner UI in which the user can select multiple photos at once to create a single post with the location geocache into the post to then show the route of the complete trip. We would also like to implement a live traffic layer to the map showing your trip to plan ahead better a time to leave and realistic arrival time. We would also implement new Sign-on page to resemble the scheme we have for our App branding.
