Budget friendly tourism, something we would use in our lives, incorporating AI
What it does
A mobile application that requires users to upload or take a picture of a tourist attraction. Gemini AI will then analyze the image, then a story will be returned and shown to the user. The app can then narrate the story to the user.
How we built it
We used expo to create our app. We used Typescript for the majority of our project, with some JavaScript as well. Half of our team worked on the front end, while the other half worked on the back end.
Challenges we ran into
Finding the appropriate Gemini model to use, connecting front and bank ends together.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to get the app to run...!
What we learned
We truly refined our git skills throughout this hackathon, as it allowed us all to collaborate with each other on the project.
What's next for Tour Story
We want to further the accessibility of this app by creating a user database, allowing users to save their pictures and stories generated previously, so that they will not lose it.
