Inspiration

We believe technology should do more than record what has already happened, it should help prevent problems before they occur. Our inspiration comes from the daily operational challenges faced by restaurants, where a single inventory shortage can disrupt service and impact customer satisfaction. By combining artificial intelligence with intelligent workflow automation, we aim to empower restaurant owners and managers to make faster, smarter, and more proactive decisions, allowing them to focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences instead of constantly reacting to operational issues.

What it does

Our platform helps restaurants operate more efficiently by combining artificial intelligence with UiPath automation. It monitors inventory in real time, predicts operational risks, generates AI-powered insights, and automates approval workflows, enabling managers and owners to respond quickly and proactively before issues affect daily operations.

How we built it

We built the platform using React, FastAPI, Firebase, OpenAI, and UiPath Maestro. AI analyzes restaurant operations and generates recommendations, while UiPath automates approval workflows between managers and administrators. The system is designed to combine predictive analytics with human-in-the-loop automation for smarter restaurant operations.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was integrating multiple technologies into a seamless workflow. Connecting AI analysis, Firebase, FastAPI, and UiPath Maestro while ensuring reliable communication and human-in-the-loop approvals required extensive debugging, testing, and refinement to achieve a smooth end-to-end automation process. As well as the financial need in order to stream the web through a Blaze plan

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of building a working AI-powered restaurant operations platform that combines predictive analytics with UiPath automation. Despite the technical challenges, we successfully integrated AI-driven decision support, human-in-the-loop approvals, and an end-to-end operational workflow into a single, cohesive system.

What we learned

We learned that building intelligent automation requires more than connecting technologies—it requires designing reliable workflows that keep humans involved in critical decisions. Throughout this project, we gained valuable experience in AI integration, workflow orchestration with UiPath, backend development, and collaborating across a full-stack application.

What's next for TouchOrders

Currently, this start-up idea has taken its place into its testing stage. We are collaborating with Sugar Cafe(Local coffee shop), to test out our project so we can gain valuable data through real world impact. Next would be to officially ship this product, and be able to create a more suitable hardware device than just using an phased out tablet.
