Touch

“Touch” is a psychological crime drama exploring the thin line between intimacy and manipulation. Set in modern-day Kyiv, it follows a massage therapist whose gift of touch draws people closer — until one of his clients vanishes, and his life spirals into a dangerous game of secrets, obsession, and guilt.

Inspiration

The idea came from real stories about human vulnerability, emotional dependency, and the silent power dynamics between people who seek comfort and those who provide it. We were inspired by shows like You, Dexter, and The Idol — but wanted to create something deeply Ukrainian in atmosphere and emotion.

What it does

The series exposes hidden desires and moral gray zones. It blends crime investigation with sensual tension, exploring how trauma, loneliness, and guilt can transform touch — from healing to destructive.

How we built it

The project began as a short script concept, developed into a pilot episode, and later evolved into a full-season arc. We combined cinematic realism with emotional intensity, working closely on character psychology, authentic Kyiv locations, and layered storytelling that mixes thriller, drama, and social realism.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing sensuality with ethics was one of the biggest creative challenges. We wanted to show physical connection without exploitation — focusing on emotional consequences, not eroticism. Additionally, crafting believable, multi-dimensional characters in a morally complex story required deep rewriting and tonal precision.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Developed a strong narrative universe with multiple character arcs.

Created an authentic Ukrainian noir tone, both modern and relatable.

Built visual and thematic consistency that makes Touch stand out in the psychological thriller genre.

What we learned

We learned that true tension comes not from violence or mystery, but from emotional intimacy — when characters let someone too close. The human psyche is far more dangerous than any weapon.

What's next for Touch

We’re moving toward pre-production — finalizing the pilot script, preparing a teaser, and developing the full pitch package for studios and investors. The next goal: to bring Touch to life as a high-quality Ukrainian original series with international appeal.
