Inspiration
I wanted something funny to remind me to get off my computer and actually go outside to do literally anything. Plus I know CS majors could use the reminder.
What it does
After set amounts of time or when a certain program is opened the program will begin sending popups to remind the user to go outside or touch grass in comedic ways.
How we built it
I built it in VS Code using python and some of the integrated Copilot AI features for debugging
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was getting the API key to work and allowing for AI messages instead of solely my set popup messages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud to have gotten it mostly functioning and I'm happy that it's still pretty funny.
What we learned
I had never implemented a program with any sort of popups or integrated AI usage so all around this was a cool learning experience.
What's next for Touch Grass
I plan to commit more time to properly implementing AI or adding more comedic messages to be sent to the user.
