Inspiration
Wanted to make a slightly more accessible method to demonstrate or practice telegraphing
What it does
Reads and writes telegraph signals, translates inputs from a key and reads them out in standard letters
How we built it
Built a circuit with indicator lights and analog buzzer as well as 3D printing a telegraph key for input and wired it all to an arduino that controls it all
Challenges we ran into
Communication and understanding the scope of the project that everyone felt comfortable doing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It works
What we learned
Better understanding of how to work around the Arduino and particularly how to use a text display
What's next for Totally Brand New Telegraph Machine
Improved key with maybe authentic finish and sound maker. Improved form factor and transmission capabilities able to overflow the 16 character display and scroll.
