Inspiration
As a ceramic artist, I often felt like tech tools weren’t made for people like me—people covered in clay, balancing creative chaos and the need to somehow sell what we make. Torobima was born out of this frustration and desire: to have an assistant who not only helps me organize my artistic world, but understands its soul.
What it does
Torobima is an AI-powered assistant for ceramic and craft artists. It helps artists:
sell easily - upload a photo with a short description, while the AI autogenrtates hashtags, desctoptions, help you elevate your photos, and find the right customer
Auto-generate product descriptions, hashtags, and posts
matches your product with the buyer - if a buyer describes roughly what they want - AI provides the product from its data base
AI assistant works like an art curator shouwing the buyer options they might be interested in
Support buyers with clear, accessible info about handmade pieces
It’s both a helper for creators and a bridge to the people who love their work.
How we built it
I built the interface using Bolt.new, focusing on a clean, intuitive experience for non-tech users. Every form and function was tested to make sure it makes sense for an artist’s mind—creative, nonlinear, tactile.I designed it with future integrations in mind:
ChatGPT for text generation
Supabase for project tracking
ElevenLabs for voice interaction
Challenges we ran into
Time, mostly. Balancing a full-time job, my own art practice, and learning a new platform like Bolt while staying true to the artistic audience I’m building for. Plus basically I've learned about shi opportunity literlly an hour an a half before closingAlso, finding the right tone—Torobima had to feel helpful, but never sterile. Smart, but never soulless.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I turned a deeply personal artistic need into a digital solution that speaks both to artists and buyers. I created a real working prototype, complete with visual logic and Bolt-hosted structure, in under a month—and gave it a heart.
What we learned
That art and tech can co-exist—but only if we meet artists where they are. That even simple features like checklists and auto-descriptions can remove huge creative blocks. And that the way we explain handmade work matters just as much as how we create it.
