💡 Inspiration

The age of AI is not coming — it is already here. Technology evolves daily, demanding adaptability and problem-solving as the most valuable skills. Yet hiring remains stuck in outdated CVs, rewarding static experience instead of future potential.

Torin AI was born to change this. It gives a fair chance to the overlooked — self-taught developers, career changers, and those without traditional experience but with exceptional logical thinking.

Because the future of hiring is not about resumes — it’s about adaptability.

✨ What it does

Torin AI is a hiring platform that discovers a candidate’s true potential by reimagining technical assessments. Instead of filtering by resumes, measures adaptability, problem-solving, and learning speed.

👩‍💻 For Candidates

  • No resumes required — instead, you solve a challenge in a technology you’ve never used before.

  • You can freely use AI assistance and documentation; the goal is not “pass or fail,” but to demonstrate how you learn.

  • Your submission becomes a Potential Profile: a transparent record of your reasoning, approach, and adaptability.

🏢 For Employers

  • Instead of a static CV, you see what really matters: a candidate’s thinking process.

  • Review their interaction with AI, the questions they asked, how they debugged, and how they approached the unknown.

  • Hire based on verified adaptability and growth potential, not just years of past experience.

👉 In Torin AI, mindset is the new resume. Companies can uncover flexible learners ready to thrive in a fast-changing tech world.

🛠️ How I Built It

Given the hackathon timeline, I focused on delivering a functional prototype that demonstrates the core idea.

I built a frontend-only prototype in React with an integrated sandbox (Sandpack) where candidates can solve coding challenges directly in the browser. In the AI interaction field, I created a chat demonstration, showing how a candidate’s reasoning and use of assistance could be captured.

I also developed company cards to illustrate how everything connects — from solving a task to an employer reviewing the candidate’s profile.

This is an early prototype, but I already have a clear roadmap for the next stages. I have the full technical expertise to bring this vision to life — from backend development to real AI integration.

⚡ Challenges I Faced

The biggest challenge was the “AI dilemma”: should candidates be allowed to use AI freely? My breakthrough was to embrace it — realizing that effective AI collaboration is a core skill. This insight turned into one of Torin AI’s strongest features.

🌟 Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • Created a psychologically safe evaluation environment by removing the “pass/fail” stigma and focusing on growth.

  • Built a working prototype that demonstrates the full candidate → challenge → employer flow.

  • Highlighted a critical social problem — bias in hiring — and proposed a clear, implementable AI-driven solution.

🌱 What I learned

This project showed me that the strongest solutions come from reframing problems. I realized that the essence of Torin AI is in giving challenges with unfamiliar technologies. Candidates self-report the tools they already know — and at first, I worried about dishonesty.

The solution came naturally: add a simple note reminding them that honesty pays back. Trust always carries risk, but starting with trust often inspires candidates to show it in return. And in the long run, dishonesty will always surface.

🚀 What's next for Torin AI

The journey for Torin AI is just beginning. Roadmap includes:

  • Social impact tracking → Measure outcomes like increased hiring of self-taught developers and reduced bias in candidate selection.
  • Full AI Integration → Replace the simulated assistant with a live LLM API (e.g., Gemini) for real-time coding guidance, deeper analysis, and instant feedback.
  • AI refinement → Improve feedback loops with explainable AI insights for both candidates and employers.
  • Pilot partnerships → Test the platform with coding bootcamps, universities, and socially responsible companies.
  • Global Ecosystem → Build a fair, scalable network where anyone, anywhere can prove their potential, gain visibility, and unlock opportunities.
