Inspiration
We were inspired when trying to eat together and nobody had any ideas about where to eat. So we decided to create a web app to help us with this issue.
What it does
Users can see categories of restaurants on the CMU campus and get help picking where to eat based on the website's suggestions.
How we built it
We used Flask, HTML, and CSS to make it.
Challenges we ran into
None of us had done web development before, so it was a challenge to figure out how to create a website. Also figuring out how to set up and use Flask took a significant amount of time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of designing a good looking and functional website using flask and creating a product together as a team.
What we learned
We learned web development skills and how to program and delegate tasks together. We also got to develop some marketing skills as we designed a company name, logo, and slogan.
What's next for Toothpick
Implementing voting functionality and taking user ideas for where to eat. Additionally, we want to expand the website to a mobile app that is able to be used across the world instead of just at CMU.
