Inspiration

We were inspired to built this website by our fascination for fan theories on anime like death note and one piece as well as cartoons like gravity falls and rick and morty.

What it does

This website has all the functionalities that a community website would have, you can register, login, logout, create a new post, comment, update your posts, delete posts see other people's profiles, edit your username, reset your password.

How we built it

We built this using python, Django in the backend and Html, css, bootstrap in the front-end. We're a team of 3, Gabriele took care of the backend and the basic structure of the frontend, Lyn and Vale took care of signing and styling the whole website using bootstrap.

Challenges we ran into

We are all fairly new to the technologies, so the hardest part was the beginning. For the backend the main technical difficulties were with resetting passwords, updating and deleting posts. We wanted to deploy the app using Heroku but due do some bugs we we're not able to do it in time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're really proud of how the website design turned out and we're also surprised that we were able to implement so many functionalities.

What we learned

We learned a lot about backend web-development with python and django, we also greatly improved our front-end dev skills.

What's next for ToonTheories

We'll try to fix the deploying bug and then we'll try publish it, try to promote it and see if some people might actually be interested in such a website

Updates

posted an update

I was able to help perform the frontend part and before I wasn't confident enough to start writing code on my own but here I could start gaining more experience. Contribute to the creation of styles and work with margin and padding.
