📖 The Story of ToolCrafter.AI
🧠 The Problem
For millions of users with physical, cognitive, or technological barriers, the digital world isn’t designed to be inclusive. Many can't use basic tools without facing friction: reading on-screen text, typing, adjusting visibility, or even interacting with standard UI elements becomes a challenge.
As builders, we asked ourselves — what if they didn’t need to search, download, or learn new software at all?
What if they could just say what they needed... and get it?
💡 The Idea
During HackTheVibe 2025, we — Vivek Pawar and Samrath — set out to solve this.
Our mission: one sentence = one working accessibility tool.
We built ToolCrafter.AI, an AI-powered web app that lets anyone describe their difficulty in plain English and instantly get a personalized tool in return.
🤖 Under the Hood
The core of ToolCrafter is powered by the Gemini API from Google.
Here's how it works:
- Users enter a simple prompt like:
- “I can’t read small text.”
- “I want to type using my voice.”
- Gemini processes and interprets the prompt, figures out the intent, and responds with the appropriate logic and UI blueprint.
- The tool is rendered live in the browser — no code, no installs.
- A built-in voice guide explains how to use the tool.
We kept the frontend lightweight and accessible, using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to ensure compatibility across devices.
⚒️ What We Built
In 48 hours, ToolCrafter.AI was capable of:
- Generating a screen reader for reading on-screen text
- Creating a voice typing interface
- Applying a high-contrast overlay
- Guiding users with spoken instructions step-by-step
Every tool was real and usable — not just mockups.
👥 The Team
- Vivek Pawar – Prompt interpretation logic, API integration, and backend structure
- Samrath – Voice-guided UX, UI assembly, and flow design
We worked hand-in-hand on ideation, tool testing, and optimization, refining each feature with inclusivity in mind.
🌍 Why It Matters
This isn’t just a hackathon demo. ToolCrafter.AI is a step toward a future where:
- Tools adapt to the user — not the other way around.
- Accessibility is on-demand, not pre-packaged.
- Anyone, regardless of their abilities, can use tech through conversation.
We believe tech should listen before it teaches.
🚀 What’s Next?
- Add multi-language support
- Let users save/share their custom tools
- Build a library of public tools generated by others
- Partner with NGOs, schools, and public centers
- Introduce offline support for rural access
🙌 Built With
- Google Gemini API
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Vanilla JS Voice APIs for interaction
- Hosted on Lovable (only for front-end deployment)
🏁 Final Thoughts
ToolCrafter.AI is more than a website — it’s a tiny proof that inclusive technology can be simple, powerful, and human-first. We didn’t just code features, we crafted freedom.
