Inspiration

The inspiration for "Tomorrow's London" came from a fascination with how historical architecture and futuristic technology might coexist. We wanted to explore how AI filmmaking tools could help us visualize the city's evolution—not as a dystopian wasteland, but as a living, breathing metropolis balancing heritage with cutting-edge advancement.

What it does

"Tomorrow's London" is a cinematic, AI-generated short film that envisions the evolution of London over the next century. The video takes viewers on a visual journey through a reimagined metropolis where iconic heritage landmarks—like Big Ben and Tower Bridge—are seamlessly integrated with sustainable green architecture, advanced transit systems, and futuristic cyber-elements, showcasing a harmonious balance between history and high-tech advancement.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest hurdles was maintaining visual consistency across different shots. Keeping the futuristic elements uniform while ensuring iconic landmarks like Big Ben or the Tower Bridge remained instantly recognizable required extensive prompt engineering and careful selective generation. Managing rendering times and upscaling the final video to a crisp, cinematic quality within the hackathon timeframe was also a tight race against the clock.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are incredibly proud of achieving a high level of visual continuity and cinematic pacing using purely generative workflows. Successfully blending the distinct, historic identity of London with believable future tech without losing the city's core essence felt like a major creative victory. Additionally, managing to render, upscale, and score an entire atmospheric short film within the tight constraints of a hackathon timeline was a massive accomplishment for our team.

What we learned

We learned a massive amount about the rapid capabilities of modern AI filmmaking workflows. The project pushed us to understand how to blend traditional cinematography principles—like framing, pacing, and color grading—with generative AI outputs to create a cohesive emotional narrative rather than just a collection of cool clips.

What's next for Tomorrow's London

We view this short film as a proof of concept. In the future, we hope to expand this into a longer narrative anthology, exploring the personal stories of the citizens living inside this reimagined version of London, while integrating even newer real-time rendering and AI video tools.
