AI is becoming integrated into almost everything we do. However, people fail to realize the environmental consequences that each AI search has. Tomodachi-a small figure integrated as a chrome extension-will make AI users more aware about the consequences that each search can have. Motivated to keep Tomodachi alive, users will be more aware about using AI too much. Tomodachi is tiny, customizable, and an easy to access character.
Our inspiration for this project came from our everyday lives. As students of the Claremont Colleges, we understand how much students use AI and how much it can help us. However, many people fail to realize how bad an AI search can be for the environment. Tomodachi will make users more aware about the consequences of using AI while keeping users more aware.
To build the project, we integrated HTML, CSS, Python, and Manifest V3 to make a working prototype of this extension.
