Inspiration
For our project, we decided to make a Pomodoro timer. This would combat a big issue faced when working from home. Distractions. With our timer, students could efficiently manage their time, and have a healthy balance between relaxation and study.
What it does
It is Pomodoro timer that helps students and workers alike, and it helps them to work efficiently by maintaining a healthy balance between work and relaxation.
How we built it
We built in in the framework of React Js, and did not use any libraries, other than an icon library called Material Ui.
Challenges we ran into
We encountered a whooole lot of issues while making our project, that’s for sure! Originally, we had planned for the Pomodoro timer to go for a maximum of an hour, not infinitely. But we had unfortunately run out of time. However, we still improvised to make the best build that we could.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are most proud of the way that we overcame all these challenges in spite of the time restrictions, and the way we worked together to overcome these.
What we learned
We learnt how important the value of teamwork and collaboration is very important in the real world. Moving forward, we will continue to work together, and hopefully create amazing projects!
What's next for TomatoTimer
Something that we could improve on, is that we could add a coin system, where if you complete an hour of work, you can earn a coin. If the user earns 50 coins, they would receive in-store discounts to some business. We would also make it that you can unlock several themes, as a motivation for users.
Thank You
We would like to thank you for the time and effort that you put in to make this Hackiethon happen. We put in our best effort for this application, and hope you choose us as one of the winners for Hackeithon. Thank you!
