Inspiration

The inspiration behind TikHand is driven by the desire to revolutionize online shopping on TikTok, making it more intuitive and enjoyable. I am pioneering a seamless shopping experience that fuses the ease of browsing with efficient filtering options, much like the fun and engaging experience of scrolling through TikTok videos. I have innovated to simplify product discovery and enhance user satisfaction by providing a personalized shopping guide.

What it does

TikHand offers a dynamic and user-friendly filtering system for TikTok Shop. Users can start by searching for products and then apply various filters through an animated, sliding menu. The filters include product category, brand, price range, and customer ratings. Once filters are used, the interface presents a curated selection of products that meet the user's criteria, making the shopping experience more tailored and efficient.

How I built it

Within 15 days, I utilized Figma to design and prototype TikHand. While needing more dev terms to build an actual model, I used Figma at least to finish the design of the idea. Figma's collaborative environment allowed our team to work together seamlessly, creating interactive prototypes that showcase the sliding filter menu, the search bar, and the filtered product display. The designs were iterated based on feedback and usability testing, ensuring a smooth and engaging user experience.

Challenges I ran into

One of the main challenges was ensuring the filter menu's animation was smooth and responsive across different devices. I also faced difficulties in designing an intuitive interface that would be easy for users to navigate while maintaining TikTok's aesthetic appeal. Another significant challenge was ensuring accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud to have successfully designed a sleek and functional filter system that enhances TikTok's shopping experience. The smooth animation of the sliding menu and the intuitive layout of the filters are significant accomplishments. Additionally, I managed to keep the design visually appealing and user-friendly, aligning with TikTok's vibrant and engaging style.

What I learned

Throughout this project, I learned the importance of user-centered design and the value of iterative testing and feedback. I gained insights into creating accessible and responsive UI components and how to balance aesthetics with functionality. Working with Figma also taught us new techniques in prototyping and collaborative design.

What's next for TikHand

Next, I plan to implement the TikHand design into a fully functional application. I aim to integrate advanced filtering options, such as personalized recommendations based on user behavior and preferences. Additionally, I will focus on enhancing the accessibility features to ensure an inclusive experience for all users.
