TodoMessenger was inspired by a simple workplace problem: important work gets discussed in chat, but tasks, owners, and deadlines often disappear inside long message threads.

I wanted to build a product where conversations do not just end as messages. They become action items, reminders, and follow-ups that teams can actually track.

What I Built TodoMessenger is an AI-powered workplace messaging platform with Blu AI, an assistant that helps teams turn conversations into structured work.

The product includes:

Team messaging Task creation from conversations Reminders and follow-ups Workspace controls Google Calendar, Asana, and Jira integration concepts Blu AI workflows for task detection and follow-up suggestions How I Built It I built TodoMessenger as a full-stack web product with a chat-first interface, task management flows, backend APIs, authentication, workspace logic, and AI-assisted features.

The core idea was to keep the experience familiar like a messaging app, while adding the accountability layer that normal chat tools lack.

What I Learned I learned that building a productivity product is not only about features. It is about trust, security, user flow, and reducing friction. I also learned how important it is to clearly define access controls, workspace policies, and AI boundaries before scaling to real teams.

Challenges Faced Some of the biggest challenges were:

Making chat and task management feel natural together Designing Blu AI so it feels useful, not intrusive Improving mobile usability Handling workspace permissions and security Positioning the product clearly for startups, teams, and incubators Vision The long-term vision is to make workplace conversations action-oriented by default.

If a team discusses work, TodoMessenger should help capture: Who→Does What→By When Blu AI’s role is to help teams move from discussion to execution faster, with fewer missed follow-ups and clearer accountability
