Inspiration
Our friend, Thai Hinh, ran out of gas when driving around Florida. We wanted to make an application to help others like him.
What it does
It is a web application that takes in user input on a starting and ending address and their gas tank and mileage. This information is then used with google maps apis and a gas price api to calculate the expected price for a certain trip.
How we built it
Our website was built entirely in python using the flask module.
Challenges we ran into
Initially, we had a different idea where we committed most of our resources, however, we could not find a suitable API. So, we decided to brainstorm a different idea, but due to time constraints, we decided to scrap certain parts of our idea which led to this project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to finish this project under a day, and utilizing new libraries and APIs that we had previously not learned.
