Toaster

Inspiration

Facemash. Originally I wanted to make Facemash but for toast instead of people. Why toast? Why not.

What it does

It chooses an image of the user's ideal piece of toast after a user chooses some amount of pictures.

How I built it

Python was used to make the GUI itself and handle the logic side of things. Java was the "backend" in that it organized our toast images and ran some image analysis to get values for presence of butter, jam, crust, and how cooked the toast was.

Challenges I ran into

Storing the name of the images currently being shown was quite time-consuming. Getting Tkinter to remember the images and time constraints were all challenges

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Coming up with the idea.

What I learned

Better GUI development with Python.

What's next for Toaster

Perhaps some sort of geographical side where it picks out images of toast from nearby restaurants so the user can know which place serves the best looking toast.
