Inspiration

The inspiration adopted from Artist Herbert Bayer's Lonely Metropolitan, 1932. He was a Bauhaus-trained graphic designer who immigrated to New York City in 1938, Bayer was known for his innovative work in advertising and book publishing. In 1931 he began a series of photomontages illustrating his own dreams, which included this emblematic image in which the artist’s eyes stare from the palms of his hands, cut off at the wrists and floating mysteriously in the courtyard of a Berlin apartment block. The concept of using my stare eye; and hand gesture movement of closing/releasing with a surreal approach tried to exploit the potential of sociopolitical, personal and emotional expressions raised over self-ideology and consciousness.

What it does

The centre theme of my body of artwork could search for human life and the existence of exposing the dual forces or binaries operating in the day to day life, which is: truth and falsity, positive and negative, attraction and repulse, malignant and benign. “My work evolves around variety, complexity, beauty and expression; juxtaposing the realm of new media technologies, that brings abbreviation to an artistic expression dealing with the diurnal reality of mundane human life experiences”. In this single-channel, stop-motion animation video evolves through our unconscious being, colonized by motorization, violence, mechanization and urbanization, deforming the habitual and the mundane. I have attempted to externalize the schizophrenia of contemporary everyday life facing the situation of intolerance of violation act against peace. Which we have closed to tolerating or adopting the violating situation which is reflecting in the human eye.

How we built it

The entire stop-motion animation sequence was compiled in Adobe - Flash and converted into .MP4 rendered in the adobe premiere software. Also, I have used Adobe Photoshop for image editing and colour correction.

Challenges we ran into

The challenge I have faced in this animation is fusing the same sequence repeated on the eyeball reflection, and maintaining the quality of non-linear/non-sequence has been continued looped within the timeframe.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

To bring the quality of meta-narrative in today's socio-political context, and it may create the curiosity to the audience the raising the statement to what extent the tolerating with the violating situation.

What we learned

It is our inner-voice to regenerate, re-create, re-question the human ethos for positive changes in social-political attitude in the democratic context.
