Inspiration
My inspiration for the project came from working at a startup and hearing many complaints about mainstream bug tracking software being too bulky or complicated without reason.
What it does
to the moon is an essential-only bug tracking software with full customizability. There are default states which can be modified if needed as well as the option to create your own. The app serves as a tracking tool for bugs beginning as "Open" all the way until "Closed"
How I built it
I built a web app completely out of React.js. I was originally going to use a Node.js backend with a MySQL database, but for the sake of time and for the demo I was unable to link the two.
Challenges I ran into
Challenges along the road included unfamiliarity with the framework I chose and limited time to debug features.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud of bringing an idea into reality while also gaining an incredible amount of front-end experience along the way. Another accomplishment is being able to stay committed to the project even through the thick of night.
What I learned
The first thing that comes to mind is a ton of front-end development skills. I've gone from a full-stack dev with primarily a background in back-end development to being quite comfortable with UX design and designing the general flow of the app. I've become very familiar with the workings of React.js and the libraries that I've implemented(Styled Components, Bootstrap/Bootstrap-React, React-Icons).
What's next for to the moon
I plan on finishing the app whenever I can, focusing on linking the back-end to the front and delivering all the features I've intended. I then would like to host the app and share it with fellow startup ceos!
