Inspiration

Love for deep learning and data science. We all have an interest in the financial markets and always enjoy making a fun game!

What it does

Our project covers many aspects of financial trading. There is the trading game where we host a realtime forex market, where people can compete with others. We also have a backend containing multiple predictive models aiming to capture the buy potential of currencies.

How we built it

The web application is built with react, with a flask backend. The deep learning models were all created with pytorch and so made up another part of the backend. All the data from the game was fed into the models, as well as past data spanning over the last 15 years

Challenges we ran into

Feature creep! There are so many things we would have loved to have added but we found it a struggle to restrain ourselves.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Some of our team learned react for the first time, and others learned flask. We built up a lot of valuable skills whilst creating the DL models.

What we learned

What's next for To the moon (and beyond!)

We would love to publish it as an actual game, for people to develop their skills on a risk free platform.
