Inspiration

The hackathon cat was so cute we wanted to do something with it. Laura was playing cookie clicker and that's how the idea of an auto-clicking game came about.

What it does

It collects cheese! Press on the mewn for cheese and you can use that for upgrades!

How we built it

After looking at web-browser games we started brainstorming from there how the entire game would work. The game runs on JavaScript and uses VSCode. We used Python to host local servers on our computers for testing.

Challenges we ran into

Starting was the hardest part though GitHub and merging was a huge issue. Kept having merge conflicts and vague error codes when we pushed or pulled something incorrect. Also just organizing items and the systems. We had to figure out items, values associated with them, and how calculations would work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The idle-game has complete graphics and looks cute!

What we learned

How to use/ the basics of JavaScript, Phaser, and web-coding in general.

What's next for To the Mewn

An intro cut-scene, mobile-port, and mini-games would all be great. We would also like to expand on our upgrades and adding new items. Along with that we'd love to nerf the numbers more and put the buildings on the moon rather than just having the button.
