Inspiration
As we all know, Marianopolis is a college that promotes academic success and community engagement, this can be seen in the many libraries and the wall full of posters from clubs. We wanted to create a fun and interactive game to regroup all that information.
What it does
The player can explore the library and move around.
How we built it
Unity
Challenges we ran into
Many problems with the use of the Github environment, as it was our first time using its commands. MAny problems with the Unity component (esp the camera movement -- picture perfect camera) and script compilation
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our use of Github and its environment.
What we learned
As we are all beginner, and our first time to work on a collaborative project, we never used Github before. In this hackathon, we learned, thanks to the mentor, how to use Git Bash and the main commands to push and pull code.
What's next for To the library!
Since it is a RPG game, we want our player to be able to interact with the object around him, like the book, tables... Our goal is to inform the students of new in-college activities and promote mental health by proving ressources and tips. On a larger scale, our aim is to create a mini RPG community within the game so students have a platform to communicate.
