Inspiration
We are inspired by the like how annoying it is to fill up the forms of your own health details, again and again, to review it also under gruesome time so as to ease things out both for patients and doctors. EMS providers rely on information about their patients in order to develop and implement care. It is not uncommon though, for these professionals to face situations where the patient is unable to communicate, in which case, they need to look around for clues that could indicate patient's health status.
What it does🔍❓🆕
It takes the inputs of the medical conditions, and allergies and converts it to a QR code so that the doctor might know about his patient's previous conditions and the things which he/she can take as medicine. It reduces the friction between the patient and the doctor and makes the work easier. E-chart resolves this problem. The patient signs up to the platform and creates a profile, which they will add, after HIPAA disclaimers, basic information required in every Patient Chart. The patient then receives a QR Code and a wallet card with this QR Code printed.
How we built it🏗🔧🔨⚙🧰
We used MERN stack to build the project. Made user of qrcode.react to generate the QR Code and for the database we made use of MongoDB.
Challenges we ran into🧨🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
The backend authentication and security are really challenging as well as the client-side interface we had to work for it to make it happen.
Accomplishments that we're proud of🏆🏅🧠
The things we are proud of are the integration like everything fits perfectly in place so that it can be deployed and everything is working fine. By making things that make our world a better place and ease out the work for the hectic schedules of the doctor Like we have experienced during the pandemic breakout so that without getting in contact with other people and just by scanning the QR code he/she might be able to access the medical information about the patient.
What we learned🧠
We learned a lot of things during this hackathon It was a very fun experience our teammate came up with the idea and we start dividing things to sort everything out perfectly and start learning new things. Like Mern stack.
What's next for MediScan⏭⏭⏭
Editing the user's medical information like allergies or medications and updating the QR Code as per updated input values.
