Inspiration Living in conflict-affected regions showed us how fragile health systems become during crises. Hospitals lose visibility, communication networks fail, and patients struggle to access emergency care. We were inspired to build a system that could still function when infrastructure collapses — a platform designed specifically for war and disaster environments. What it does TMT is an AI-powered crisis health intelligence platform. It collects real-time signals from Telegram and SMS, analyzes them using AI, and provides hospitals and health authorities with live crisis maps, early warnings, and encrypted patient data access. It works even in low or no-internet environments using secure SMS fallback, helping institutions coordinate resources, track hospital capacity, and respond faster to emergencies. How we built it We built TMT using a scalable backend architecture with FastAPI and PostgreSQL, integrated AI models for crisis classification, and implemented encrypted SMS processing for offline communication. We developed a live map engine, real-time alert system, and a hospital dashboard for monitoring crisis zones and resource availability. The system is designed to be secure, compliant, and resilient under high-load emergency conditions. Challenges we ran into Handling unreliable or no-internet scenarios Ensuring secure encryption for sensitive medical data Designing real-time systems that remain stable during crisis spikes Maintaining compliance with humanitarian data protection standards Simulating real-world conflict conditions for testing Accomplishments that we're proud of Building a working offline-first emergency alert system Implementing encrypted SMS-based SOS functionality Creating an AI-based crisis detection and classification engine Designing a platform tailored specifically for humanitarian environments Developing a scalable architecture suitable for government and NGO deployment What we learned We learned that technology for crisis zones must prioritize reliability over complexity. Simplicity, security, and resilience matter more than flashy features. We also learned how critical ethical AI, data protection, and infrastructure stability are when human lives depend on the system. What's next for TMT Pilot deployment with hospitals or NGOs Enhancing AI accuracy with regional data Expanding multilingual SMS support Strengthening compliance frameworks Scaling regionally through humanitarian partnerships
