One of the biggest issues facing environmental science is the inefficient exchange of ideas and difficulty of validating claims made on the internet. tldr aims to be the platform where scientific knowledge can be exchanged through neat, crowdsourced paper summaries and blogs to be as close as possible to the source material. In doing so, the discussion opens up beyond scholars to the common man.
As articles are linked/uploaded to the platform, users can write short summaries for them written in language that can be understood by anyone. Often times this is enough to trigger healthy discussions, which can take place in the comments of the article or as blog posts, which can easily reference these articles. By providing this platform, we hope to improve the overall quality of information (and stop the spread of misinformation) of key environmental scientific facts.
