Inspiration
We were thinking back to how it was as an 8th-grade student after being accepted into TJ. We were both excited about the new courses we would be taking in the upcoming years but we did not know anything about extracurriculars. The only information I was able to find on the extracurriculars without access to ion was a list of the names of the clubs. No additional information or contact info either. We wanted to make the information much more accessible to students who may be lost as they are entering the world of TJ.
What it does
A website that displays a catalog of the TJ Extracurriculars. There is a search and eventually will be a filter function (if we make it in time). The data is displayed as an accordion with a description of the club, along with other contact info or website links inside.
How we built it
We PHP and SQL in an HTML website to work the data display. We also used HTML bootstrap to make it look nicer.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the applications to work for Mac. Eventually switched to a windows computer.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting the search and display done!
What we learned
PHP and SQL implementation into websites. Knew about it before but did not know how it was implemented.
